| Boyz, It is with a heavy heart that I write this email and thus would like to send my best wishes to Nick and hope he has a speedy recovery. Now that the 'mushy' stuff is out of the way please allow me to be insulting!!! I would never suggest playing an extra D-man instead of a goalie as that is beyond stupid and enters the realm of the ridiculous. I am however the person who suggests things like: 1. banking the puck off the boards instead of giving it away in the centre of the ice as per our usual give-away breakout 2. dumping the puck into the opposition zone and pursuing the puck aggressively, forcing the other team to make the mistakes we often make (like turning the puck over at the blue line while one of either Teal or myself are trying to join the rush). 3. Not having a forward line-up consisting of 2 sets of 4 players instead of 2 centres and 3 sets of wingers (that's right I'm basically saying I told you so after that decision cost us 5 goals in the first damn period). 4. Playing with 3 or 4 defencemen not 5, since 3 of the better players are defencemen and thus 2 of them can play together (Palmer and Teal is pretty much the best defence pairing 'D' hockey has to offer and yes I am admitting that Teal and I together tends not to work). 5. How about a 'give-and-go' every now and then. When was the last time we stringed together more than two passes? The most absurd aspect of me even writing this email is that we are two time defending champions, which either means we are pressure performers or we have been beating shittier hockey teams than us (you decide). If you don't like what I have had to say then email Johnson and ask him to trade me to the Well Hungarians for the Moose and a life time supply of pucks (maybe a few water bottles as well). Otherwise go to power skating, hockey school, or ask Furlong to play with the chicks from his Sunday team.
